![]() ![]() Yolei Inoue
Digieggs: Love, SincerityDigimon: Poromon - Hawkmon - Aquilamon Armour Digimon: Halsemon ("wings of love"), Shurimon ("samurai of sincerity") Japanese name: Inoue Miyako Images Yolei is the new female digidestined, and she's not quite like the other three; not so sweet and kind and feminine. Rather, Yolei has attitude. ^_^. She does not take the lead in things very often, but she is good with computers and usually does work on the d-terminal, digiport, etc, when Izzy is not around. She's fairly smart, and the oldest of the new digidestined team. But just because Yolei is good with computers does not really make her a good candidate for, say, the crest of Knowledge (are you happy, Rb? I'm using your line! ^_^.), because she does respond to things from the heart more than the head. She can be quite emotional and quite aggressive/hot-tempered, although she does have more patience and common sense than, say, Davis. Yolei is pretty bossy, and stubborn, and very blunt. Like her bespectacled predecessor, she has a penchant for making dry/snide little comments. She says just what she's feeling, and this works well for her. Take an instance where she didn't do this, instead bottling up her feelings. The kids agreed they would go into the digiworld and not leave until Ken was defeated. As you can imagine, this is a pretty big decision, and a scary prospect. Yolei was nervous about it and wasn't sure she was up to it, but she encouraged herself and promptly threw herself into over-compensating by acting really over-the-top. She started being ultra-bossy and enthusiastic, determined they would find and beat Ken ASAP. She was pretty stubborn about it and wouldn't listen to reason from anyone else, and her idiocy finally resulted in Hawkmon being hurt. She then realised that she had been foolish. Of the new digidestined, Yolei seems the least enthusiastic about fighting. She can usually be counted on to pull through, but has some moments of weakness, or where she doesn't want to go to digiworld at all. Of course she cares about the endangered Digimon and her friends, but she seems to express it less than the others. My favourite Yolei-centric episode is where Hawkmon learns to become Shurimon. This involves Yolei drooling all over the American digidestined Michael (did I mention Yolei goes very starry-eyed over cute boys?), insulting and shouting at Digitamamon, and then vowing to be more sincere in the way she judged people. Yolei's idol is Mimi; she wants to be just like Mimi and wishes she had a sister like her. For someone who likes guys so much, I think maybe Yolei feels she isn't really what they're looking for, being prone to violent outbursts, and not being terribly feminine - she admires Mimi's beauty, fashion sense, confidence, kindness and sincerity. Her Digimon is Hawkmon, a dignified and serious sort of Digimon who serves as a balance to Yolei's more aggressive and exciteable nature. He helps keep her grounded, and despite that, likes her just the way she is. Yolei's family owns a convenience store, where she works sometimes. She's constantly bringing food to her friends ("in-training Digimon are bottomless pits", as TK truly said) and is pretty generous considering she has to pay for it all and it goes on her tab. ^_^;
