![]() ![]() T.K. Takaishi
I'll just refer to him as TK without the full stops... tedious to type often. TK is presumably short for Takeru, but like Izzy, everyone, even parents, call him by his nickname. Kari is not introduced until about halfway through the series, so TK is the sole "little kid" of the group. I think he likes this most of the time; a lot of littlies like hanging out with the big kids. He manages to keep up most of the time and doesn't complain a lot. He also hates fighting. At first he is a bit of a crybaby but that's understandable. Patamon says TK is getting better in that respect (he says this while TK is bawling his eyes out ^_^.). He is happy to be with his big brother in the digital world; in the real world, their parents are divorced and they live with different parents, so they don't see each other as often as most brothers. TK has the childish innocence and optimism that makes the others smile. When everyone was given the boring task of scrubbing floors and was complaining, TK was challenging Tokomon to a cleaning race and running around enthusiastically. He's cheerful and pretty good-tempered. He also doesn't bear grudges for long, which is good because he and Patamon fight sometimes (both being like stubborn little kids when they're mad ^_^.). His Digimon is a bit of a baby like him, and might seem less strong than the others, although its digivolved form is the most powerful of them all. But Patamon finds it difficult to digivolve often, and feels bad about this. Instead, he tries to protect TK as best he can, and Matt or Joe is usually around to save him where Patamon can't. This, coupled with TK's age, probably makes him seem a bit helpless and weak. Matt always thinks of him as needing protection, but TK asks him to lay off a bit and let him take care of himself sometimes. TK starts to grow up; he escapes from Puppetmon and saves the day by himself, using his own brains. This makes Matt feel bad, but that wasn't his intention - he just wants the space that an overprotective big brother disallows. Despite all the horrible things he goes through, TK never really loses his childish exhuberance, innocence, trustfulness, and hope. He was very happy to learn what his crest was.
