Introduction

Tamers is set in a different reality to 01 and 02. In other words, Tai and company will not be showing up. In this world, Digimon is a telvision show, card game, etc for kids. Digimon is very popular among children but Digimon are just fictional characters... right?

Wrong.

Three ordinary 10-year-old Digimon fans - Takato, Ruki and Lee - soon discover just how real Digimon are. They each receive a Digimon partner, a mysterious blue card and a digivice (D-Arc) and become Digimon Tamers.

Now these kids have to juggle school, their normal lives, and being Tamers. Wild Digimon are somehow breaking into the real world through digital fields, and the Tamers get caught up in battling them. Tamer battles are less one-sided than those in 01 and 02 - the Tamer helps their Digimon through their own card game strategy. Digimon battle cards, when 'card slash'ed through the D-Arc, take effect on their Digimon and give them an ability or attack for the situation they're in.

Meanwhile, two mysterious Digimon called Culumon and Impmon are also on the loose in the real world, a strange and vaguely sinister organisation known as 'Hypnos' is spying on the Digimon battles, Ruki is hard to befriend, and it's not always easy to keep one's Digimon hidden and safe.

And so the series begins...

D-Arcs

The D-Arcs can, among other things, identify Digimon and allow battle cards from the card game to be activated and applied to their own Digimon. They formed when each of the kids slashed their blue card through their Digimon card readers, transforming the card readers.

Japanese

I haven't seen the English version of Tamers (it's not even out yet) and don't expect to for quite some time. This is based on the early Japanese episodes. As such, I use the Japanese terminology and stuff. Note that in Japan, the last name of a person is given first (like, Makino Ruki's first name is Ruki). For those of you who don't know, evolving = digivolving, Child = Rookie, Adult = Champion, Perfect = Ultimate.

Takato's quote meant: "I'm not a Digimon! I'm, um... I'm... that's right! Your Tamer!"

Ruki's quote meant: "I only want one really strong Digimon."

Lee's quote meant: "It'll be alright."

Renamon's quote meant either "I'm strong on my own" or "I'll become strong on my own". ^_^;

Terriermon's quote meant: "Leave it to me!"

I would like to say "thanks muchly" to the nice people at Megchan's Digimon forums (including siren, Megchan, Sushi Swa, mikedude, Galgomon4Ever and Zagyg) who answered some of my questions and made a coupla corrections to these pages. (Although any remaining mistakes are still my fault. ^_^.) So, thanks muchly, guys. ^_^.
