Ruki is an experienced Tamer. She and her Digimon Renamon have been in many battles. Ruki loves to fight and wants her Digimon to be the very strongest. She is very good at the Digimon card game and has the nickname "Digimon Queen" from winning a card tournament. She believes - at least at the beginning of the series - that battle is the point of being a Tamer.

She is, however, very proud and very cold - kind of haughty. Basically, she's not very nice. ^^; She shows little emotion, hates to lose and lives to fight. She doesn't have a problem with killing Digimon and going all-out to get Renamon stronger. She values battling over friendship. These factors create conflict between Ruki and Renamon, because Ruki has the tendency to think of Renamon as her tool, as someone inferior who is there to win battles for her. She became impatient with Renamon for not being able to evolve.

However, Ruki does care about Renamon, although her callous attitude finally drove the Digimon away (temporarily). It pains her to see her friend get hurt. On the occasions where Ruki is able to forget her pride and think of Renamon as a friend, Renamon is able to evolve.

I think Ruki may also have problems with her mother, who is a rather different type of person from Ruki. She is a model and does not understand Ruki. Ruki lives with her grandmother and attends a girls' school. Cold and standoffish, she is something of a loner. It's hard to imagine her fitting in at school or having friends, and she probably doesn't want to - she seems the type to get annoyed with the people around her and to look at them with scorn. I think that being a Tamer and fighting is about the only thing she likes, that gives her life meaning.

She thinks she's tough but as a human, she can't really defend herself. Still, she's not a weak or girly girl - even when things are very scary, she doesn't scream and cry, although she loses a bit of her usual cool composure. Ruki is not just cold, she really is cool. ^_^.

She does have her good points, such as being brave, and smart, and a good tactician. She's an extremely strong person. She seems like the type never to back down once she has decided what she wants to do, and the type to protect those she cares about very fiercely. She ran at Harpymon with a sharp stick when Renamon was in trouble. ^_^.
