An only child, Mimi has been rather spoiled and petted; she is not a total brat, but she was used to an easy life and getting things her own way. Then she comes to a world where she has to rough it and be with kids who can't afford to take her complaining seriously. So it takes her a while to adjust.

Mimi is the one who changes the most in the digital world - she has to! She takes the transplant hard, and you can always count on her to voice a complaint. I'm tired. I'm hungry. It's too hot. It's too cold. I'm bored. I want to go home. I hate being in the same outfit for so long. Etc.

She also has a rather shrill voice and can go hysterical when she feels people aren't taking her seriously or she really can't stand being quiet. She's a fairly exhuberant girl, quite full of life, and although she might seem like a ditz, she takes things seriously. She feels successes and failures quite hard.

Sometimes it seems as though Mimi is on a different plane to the others. She's the girly girl among them, into clothes and the colour pink and having nice hair and going shopping. She says strange things sometimes. Such as when everyone has been discussing a battle they all saw years ago, and Izzy naturally says something like "I always wondered what we had in common, why we were chosen, and now we know", to which Mimi says "we all took French in school?". I don't know what's she's thinking...

Forgive me for continuing on this train of thought but I find Mimi's relationship with the other kids quite interesting. I think they're foreign creatures to her; before, she was the type to hang out with other girls like her and now none of the kids she's with fits that description, none of them are like her. From a kind of prissy social heirachy, she's with Tai, a clumsy, enthusiastic, loud person, Sora, a very down-to-earth person, Izzy, who is into intellectual pursuits...

So Mimi does stand out for a while. However, she usually does get along with everyone in the group most of the time. She is a very sensitive person and kind-hearted.

One incidence where her snobbishness came to the fore was when all the kids had split up. Mimi found herself at a castle where some little Digimon, Otamamon and Gekomon, needed someone with a beautiful voice to sing a song to wake their leader up. Mimi was that person, and as soon as they realised it, they were all willing to do anything to keep Mimi there.

Mimi took advantage of this and was soon treated like a princess. She had the life she was used to, and then some. When her friends came to get her to come back with them, she refused to go back to walking every day, sleeping in the dirt, wearing her old clothes, etc etc. But then she realised that she couldn't afford to push her friends away, and sang beautifully to wake the leader, then going back with the rest of the group.

From then on, she was more aware of her shortcomings and tried to be less selfish. She was still a bit of a complainer and sometimes still got hysterical when she was afraid, but she was definitely improving.

Upon seeing her parents, it is very clear how Mimi has the personality she does. Her mother, too, is ditzy, prone to hysteria and rather childish, yet also a nice person. Mimi's parents are real lovebirds, affectionate towards each other.

In the Dark Masters saga, Mimi was horrified at the way their friends were dying to protect them - because of them. She refused to fight any longer, but realised later that if the Dark Masters were not defeated, none of their friends would have the chance to come back, and further damage would be done. She went away from the main group with Joe, who she seems to get along with quite pleasantly.

Mimi is very kind-hearted and actually a very nice girl when she's not scared or peevish. She was even concerned about Ogremon when he was hurt, and he had previously tried to kill her. She was in her element then - you could tell she thought this was a good way to save the world, by helping instead of killing.

Her relationship with Palmon is a little weird. Palmon is a little more level-headed than Mimi, but only a little - the two are quite similar in personality. Once it seemed as though Mimi was a little embarassed of Palmon - she was not really a "cute" Digimon, and Mimi has a reputation of having good taste. Mimi also ditched Palmon to hang out with her old friends in the real world.

Still, despite her shortcomings, there's something very likeable about Mimi. You either like her or are annoyed by her. She's bright, charismatic and a good friend. She comes through when it counts.
