The Kari of 02 has come some way since her adventures in the first season.

Kari is a cheerful and bright girl who likes photography - she wears a camera around her neck - soccer and her friends. She still cares deeply about Digimon and the digital world, and never hesitates to go into the digital world to do whatever she has to.

Kari is popular and kind, with a sunny personality. She gets along with everybody and has the sensitivity to know how to help people. Her best friend is TK. However, she does have a sharp/bossy side and sometimes gets impatient with the new digidestined, such as with Yolei's bluntness, Cody's stubbornness, and Davis'... well, Davis. ^_^;;

While mostly nice, she is less so around Davis, who gets on her nerves. Davis has a major crush on her and his behaviour annoys her. She snaps at or criticises him quite a lot. But then, in earlier episodes, Kari is often the only person Davis will listen to.

Kari can seem like a real Miss Perfect. No other character ever criticises her, and she always seems to do the right thing.

Kari's friendship with Gatomon has more of an emphasis in the second season, and they seem to be on a fairly equal level (by that I mean they're not too different in personality). Gatomon is less serious and sad than in the first series, and the two have fun spending time together.

While she has to use a digiegg like everybody else, Gatomon can still digivolve to Angewomon if there are no control spires around. Despite having been in the digital world before, Kari rarely assumes a leadership role, and is usually just 'part of the group' - she doesn't go into the limelight often.

She still has weird powers relating to the crest of light. In one episode, she felt Digimon calling to her from where she was in the real world. She was taken to their world without her digivice, and used her pink light power to free the Digimon from their imprisonment.

Although she is a strong person and good at looking after herself, Kari is still the one that everyone looks out for and tries to protect.
