![]() ![]() Kari Kamiya
Kari, Tai's little sister, is a little different from the rest of them. Because she was at home sick instead of at summer camp, her digivice didn't take her to the digital world with everyone else. It appeared in her house but she never noticed it, and then her cat Miko made off with it. But that's another story. It was because of Kari that so many monsters - and the digidestined - came to the real world. Nobody realised she was the eighth child for quite some time, until Gatomon - who had been working for the bad guys - realised she was Kari's Digimon. Kari felt awful at all the destruction in the city on her behalf. Myotismon was searching for her and hurting/scaring many people in the process. She even gave herself up because monsters were attacking Sora and Matt (who were protecting her), and she knew she was the only one who could make them stop. Kari was not afraid at the prospect of fighting Myotismon - or so she said, trying her hardest to be brave - and just wanted Gatomon and everyone else to be safe. In the end, everything worked out, and when the kids returned to the digital world, she went with them. Her crest is a little weird. It enabled her to see, hear and communicate on behalf of a light entity when nobody else could see it. Later, the crest also reacted to her strong feelings and determination - in explosions of light it released strange power that energised the digidestined Digimon. Kari was also called "Queen Kari" by some Digimon that she saved through her crest. Kari is an honest and kind-hearted little girl who loves her big brother and is keen to do her best. She's very unselfish and everyone likes her. Strangely, she's quite cheerful and perky while being a bit pessimistic. She has to be reassured sometimes. She's the one that everyone wants to protect; she's just a little girl. She takes the adventures in her stride, being surprisingly calm about the whole ordeal but she gets scared too, and when she does, someone always rushes to reassure her. As she joined later in the series, she doesn't really have any of the specific character development episodes that were characteristic of earlier in the series.
